The 2014 Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers

Craft beer fans and businesses around Australia join in the 2014 Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers celebrations

via media release

With 2015 rapidly approaching, lovers of Australian craft beer are being encouraged to take pause and nominate their favourite brews of the year in The Local Taphouse’s 2014 Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers poll. Whilst I find this extremely challenging to narrow so many great beers down to my top 5, it also gives me the chance to stop and reflect on those beers that really stood out for me during the year.

The poll began as a bit of fun for staff and customers at Sydney and Melbourne craft beer venues, The Local Taphouse, in 2008. Now proudly supported by Crafty Pint and Australian Brews News, the annual poll attracts thousands of beer lovers of all persuasions.

As craft beer rapidly grows in popularity, the poll too gets bigger each year and now sees almost 60 leading craft beer businesses involved as Official Venues and running events around the country to count down the results on Australia Day.

With more exceptional craft beers being brewed in Australia by an ever-growing number of breweries, the task of voting for your favourite five beers of the year is harder than ever. But it’s a task not to be shirked from. As Guy Greenstone from The Local Taphouse explains, “From very humble beginnings, the poll is becoming a great national celebration of Aussie craft beer with venues, beer lovers and breweries all joining in. The poll itself is not very scientific and shouldn’t be taken too seriously, but it’s lot of fun for all involved”.

People can cast their votes until Friday January 9th on the following websites:.

Come on everyone, get voting!!
